| Abstract: | The present article deals with the issues of ―strong‖ literary text functioning and its difficult survival in various social, historical and ideological contexts. The ―destiny‖ of D.H. Lawrence‘s novel ―Lady Chatterley‘s Lover‖ is studied in legal and censorship aspects. Particular attention is paid to the complicated history of the original English text publication and the creation of the secondary texts in the forms of interlingual and intersemiotic translations. Different types of the novel‘s translation provide the original‘s persistence in the world culture. The novel demonstrates regular translation multiplicity due to its subject, plot and the author‘s unique idiostyle. |
