Abstract

The article introduces the basic principles of the European Union's language policy. The peculiarities of the organization and work of the European Commission's translation and interpretation services are considered; the peculiarity of the activities of modern highly specialized interpreters and translators is revealed. Recommendations are provided regarding digital platforms for learning and practicing interpretation and translation; the possibilities of the eTranslation machine translation program adapted to the EU are analyzed.
