Специфіка відтворення концепту ЩАСТЯ (на прикладі перекладу роману Френсіса Скотта Фіцджеральда «Великий Гетсбі» українською мовою)

Abstract

Стаття досліджує відтворення концепту ЩАСТЯ в українському перекладі роману. Метод суцільної вибірки дозволив нам з’ясувати вербалізатори концепту ЩАСТЯ та продемонструвати частоту їх використання в романі. Автори зазначають, що концепт ЩАСТЯ втілений у 4 ментальних моделях у дискурсі «автор-перекладач». Використання перекладачем конкретизації, модуляції, додавання мовних одиниць, перестановки, синтаксичної заміни членів речення та типів речень обумовлено труднощами у передачі авторського спектру складових концепту ЩАСТЯ.

The paper explores the reproduction of the concept of HAPPINESS in the Ukrainian translation of the novel. The method of continuous sampling has enabled us to find out verbalisers of the concept of HAPPINESS and demonstrate the frequency of their usage in the novel. The author points out that the concept of HAPPINESS is embodied in 4 mental models in the discourse “author-translator”. The usage of concretization, modulation, addition of language units, permutation, syntactic substitution of members of a sentence and sentence types has been identified due to the difficulties of domain translation, as the associative spectrum of lexical representatives cannot always be rendered equivalently to reproduce the author’s idea.
