К вопросу о переводе синтагматических топонимов в сванском языке

Abstract

Перевод топонимов и обсуждение критериев перевода оправданы при составлении научных писем или сванских топонимических словарей, потому что лингвисты и люди, интересующиеся этим вопросом, смогут более подробно изучить как структурный состав сванских топонимов, так и семантику, и этимологию. При переводе составных географических названий необходимо учитывать следующие факторы: проблема транслитерации, проблема буквального (т.е. синтаксически подобного, точного, адекватного) перевода, проблема перевода компонентов, включая синтагму. Основная задача такого перевода - точно передать содержание и форму топонима, переведенного с одного языка на другой, но также важно передать выразительные черты. Это означает показать единство формы и содержания на лингвистической основе, на которой должно быть переведено географическое название. Иногда полный эквивалент того или иного понятия или слова не обнаруживается, и в этом случае конкретное понятие должно быть передано с помощью описательного перевода (описательного эквивалента).

Translating toponyms and discussing criteria of the translation is justified in the compilation of scientific letters or Svan toponymic dictionaries, because linguists and the people interested in this issue will be able to explore in more detail both the structural composition of Svan toponyms as well as the semantics and etymology. The following criteria must be taken into account when translating compound geographical names: the issue of transliteration, the issue of literal (i.e. syntactically similar, exact, adequate) translation, the issue of translating components including syntagma. The main task of such translation is to convey exactly the content and form of the toponym translated from one language to another, but it is also important to present expressive features. It means to show the unity of the form and content on the linguistic basis on which the geographical name must be translated. Sometimes the full equivalent of this or that concept or word is not found and in this case the specific concept should be conveyed by descriptive translation (descriptive equivalent).
