dc.description.abstract	The article discusses the existence of lacunas in the language as a translation problem and possible solutions to reach the translation equivalence. The author emphasizes that the study of language lacunas remains one of the most promising areas in comparative linguistics. Several types of lacunas are differentiated. An important result of this study is the vocabulary of lacunas (over 400 units), which contains translations of the culture-specific names that are not included in ―Phraseological dictionary of the Ukrainian language‖.	uk_UA
