The importance of this topic lies in the lack of existing works on comparing the gender-specific aspects of political discourse. The author provides a definition and highlights the key specifics of political discourse as a linguistic term. The article presents research results based on the analysis of 8 speeches delivered by current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The goal is to identify and analyze linguistic elements that represent feminine and masculine traits. By summarizing the lexical and stylistic speeches of the leaders of the states, the author states that the majority of them use various types of artistic means to make their speech more expressive and bring the content closer to the people. Having analyzed three speeches of Charles III, it has been determined that the most frequently used metaphors are: a deep sense of gratitude, the service of her people, life of service, etc. The author emphasizes the importance of such research as it will allow us to better understand the context and purpose of political and other speeches, as well as to identify the impact of linguistic style on the audience and the overall effect of verbal speeches.Item Linguistic and stylistic analysis of the media text of the opinion genre (based on the publications of the New York Times)(National Aviation University, 2024) Herasymchuk, Sofia; Герасимчук, Софія АндріївнаMedia discourse, particularly through the "opinion" genre, holds significant power in shaping public perception and influencing individual values. In the research, the author has analyzed five articles from The New York Times to identify lexical and stylistic units and figures of speech. The research suggests that there may be a correlation between the selection of specific language techniques and their intended effects on written communication. Effective use of diverse stylistic devices can enhance persuasiveness and reader engagement. This interplay of language manipulation and ethical considerations underscores the complexity and importance of crafting impactful opinion pieces.
