In the research, the author has analyzed five articles from The New York Times to identify lexical and stylistic units and figures of speech. The research suggests that there may be a correlation between the selection of specific language techniques and their intended effects on written communication. Effective use of diverse stylistic devices can enhance persuasiveness and reader engagement. By summarizing the lexical and stylistic speeches of the leaders of the states, the author states that the majority of them use various types of artistic means to make their speech more expressive and bring the content closer to the people. The importance of this topic lies in the lack of existing works on comparing the gender-specific aspects of political discourse. The author provides a definition and highlights the key specifics of political discourse as a linguistic term. The article presents research results based on the analysis of 8 speeches delivered by current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The goal is to identify and analyze linguistic elements that represent feminine and masculine traits.
