The article reveals the author‘s vision of how to teach English grammar.
The main idea is that, firstly, students should be taught the essence of a
grammar phenomenon; they are supposed to understand the inner form of it.
This methodological idea is considered on the basis of the grammatical
theme ―The Article‖. It is illustrated how students learn the meaning of
articles with the help of an educational dialogue and problem tables, then
build microgrammar rules and use them in practice. The teacher only directs
their activity. This approach helps students to guess the meaning of
countable and uncountable nouns and consequently be a success in oral
speech and translation.
