Abstract:	The present paper deals with the research results of 25, 75 and 150 Gy additional acute ionizing radiation impact on growth processes of seed germs of the common reed, Phragmites australis(Cav.) Trin. & Steud, in conditions of longterm ionizing radiation impact in water bodies of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Linear indexes of leaf and root length of the germs were analyzed. It is shown that additional acute irradiation leads to inhibition of leaf and root growth of the common reed seed germs. It is probably connected with high radiosensitivity of physiological processes during early ontogenesis of acutely lowdose irradiated plants.
