Проблеми перекладу власних імен в американських анімаційних серіалах

Abstract

У статті розглядаються проблеми перекладу власних імен в американських мультсеріалах українською мовою. Власні імена активно впливають на сприйняття анімаційних серіалів та мультфільмів в цілому, а їх переклад вважається складним завданням для перекладачів. Аналіз понад 100 прикладів показує, що переважаючі способи перекладу дещо змінилися з кінця 20 століття. В даний час це переважно транскрибування та калькування . Вибір методу залежить від культурних, естетичних факторів та власних уподобань перекладача.

The article deals with the problems of translating proper names in American animated series into Ukrainian. Actively affecting the perception of animated series and cartoons in general, proper names are considered to be a complex and challenging task for translators. The analysis of more than 100 examples shows that the prevailing ways of translating have slightly changed from the end of the 20th century. At the present time they are mostly transcription and loan translation. The choice of the method depends on cultural, aesthetical factors and translator’s own preferences.
