| Abstract: | The paper aims at specifying the main issues of written translation which are too often neglected in professional education; the result of such neglect is lack of linguistic, intercultural, and pragmatic competence. The author shares her personal ideas on how to teach would-be professional translators; she quotes most prominent professional translators to stress the relevance of what is being written. The paper offers some practical advice on the subject. |
