Abstract: Hydroplaning is associated with the complete loss of the grip of a tyre because of the presence of a rain-water film between the tyres of a moving vehicle and the road surface. The holding capacity of tyre is considerably reduced when the water turns into ice. The paper presents the result obtained in the experimental research of the flows of rain-water, whose depth is comparable with that of depressions and cambers of rough roadway pavement.
